Internet is a rich resource, resource not only of knowledge, core data, and information but also of jokes, picture, movies and many other things.
Well it would be safe to say that 95% of internet is friendly and trust worthy. But you should know that just because internet is friendly you can’t connect and become care free. Cyber crime is breaking records with every passing day. It has come quite a distance from e mails that promised to pay tons of money in exchange of your bank account information to technologically advanced phising attacks. Well good news for you guys is that it isn’t that hard to stay safe and away from these attacks. Let’s start with some basics.
Using internet on an unprotected PC is similar to killing your PC and if you are the one who hasn’t taken care of it please take some time out to visit your program files. You would find some exceptionally beautiful files that you wouldn’t even remember installing on your PC. PC’s are affected the most when basic lines of defense are missing. These lines are anti virus, firewall, and anti spyware. Once you have installed do make it appoint to keep them updated as well. Some of the popular and freely available softwares are Avast which is antivirus, Zone Alarm which is a firewall And Spybot which is an anti spyware. It is also highly recommended that you run full virus and spyware scan once every week.
