Microsoft has released its first application for Google’s operating system, and it has been named as Microsoft Tag. The application Microsoft Tag does a simple work, and that is it lets you to link physical objects with the content on internet with the help of smart phones.
What you have to do is, just point your Smart phone at a specifically designed bar code HCCB bar code which is similar to QR code and the smart phone opens up the link to any sort of online content , it can be either video or image or text only. This application does one thing, it does not store any data , all it stores is the unique ID which is sent to Microsoft Servers. With this you can include much information about a given set of ID or place.
Microsoft Tag is available for Apple’s iPhone, Symbian Phones, J2ME, Blackberry and now it has turned gates towards Android. According to Benjamin Gauthey of Microsoft’s Tag Team “We work to meet our commitment of ensuring that all Smart phone users can access Tag. We’re nearly there with the Tag Reader already working with the major mobile platforms”.
