Google's Pac Man Ruined Work Productivity

Google’s Pac Man which they introduced on their home page on 21st May has created some sort of controversies as well. The game Pac Man was first introduced in 1980 in 8bit and after Google converted their home page logo into Pac Man for the 30th birthday of Pac Man it resulted in more time expenditure of an average user.

An average Internet user like me spends around 15-20 seconds on Google page. As soon as our search is done we leave Google’s home page and proceed to the website we searched. But with the introduction of Google’s Pac Man an average user spent around 36 more seconds on Google.

If you think this is small figure, I would agree but when we talk about number of visits on Google’s homepage this number would exceed any thought. Google gets around 500 million page views per day and average user visit increase by 36 seconds resulted in 4.82 Million hours of time spent on Google.

According to different websites calculations this 4.82 million hours of productivity was lost due to the game.

I enjoyed the game a lot and even today I played it for around 10 minutes. Did you play Pac Man on Google if not then you can still play it at Google’s website.
