Google, the company behind many innovations and projects introduced Google Wave as an email killer. But all that killer instincts are now dead as Google have announced the sad demise of their project named Google Wave.
Google Wave had qualities like live typing in browser, drag and drop files from desktop but even these features did not work in the favor of Google Wave. The main reason behind the demise of Google Wave is the slow or no adoption by users.
In the early days I did go along with wave but I forgot about Google Wave as it was of no use to me, and I might have used it only 3-5 times or a maximum of may be 10 times. The team behind Google Wave worked very hard but not every project finds the numbers that they are expecting or have expected with the growing number of internet users.
The Official Google announcement indicates that Google Wave will be alive till the end of the year but no further developments are scheduled in Google Wave as a standalone project, some of the technologies may be used in any new unannounced projects.
