Noting is better than music to relieve all your tension in the time of distress. Even if you are not exactly distressed and are feeling low you can safely count on music to bring you out of that situation.
However the best use of music is always put in the moments of joy and celebration like when you are partying with your friends or relatives. At these times music is a must have thing, it not only raises the worth of the occasion but also helps people go beyond the limits which they usually tie themselves in.
You can choose whatever music you like still I would say that you should try everything and not confine yourself to something that though you don’t get bored with but is essentially monotonous. My advice is that you listen to each kind of music at least for a month and then wait for what you feel.
