PR v/s traffic battle has been going on for quite some time now. Which one of them carries more importance is a matter of personal choice. Some people like to go for PR while others prefer traffic.
Here we mentioned it as a matter of personal choice because different people expect different things from a particular site or blog.
Here we mentioned it as a matter of personal choice because different people expect different things from a particular site or blog.As an administrator of a blog I would like to have tons of traffic on my site and if my content is worthy of being mentioned, then there would be no problem of PR as well. But what do you expect as an advertiser. Why does high PR fetch high dollars for literally equal amount of work?
Advertisers are really smart. Most of the review offers that bloggers get, appeal to general audience while a particular blog attracts only a dedicated readership. To understand this we will have to go through the whole idea of how PR is attained.
PR or page rank is Google’s idea of prioritizing blogs. It represents the Google’s importance of a particular site and its pages. The more number to sites that point to your site the higher will be your PR. Actually this is what makes PR important. This can be understood by an example.
Suppose site A has 100 links pointing towards itself while site b has 50 links pointing towards it site A will have higher PR. These links come from sites having links pointing to them as well. It is this interlinking of blogs is what advertisers look for. The hope that if a particular person visits a site C which leads him to site B and site B leads him to site A and then from site A to advertisers site and the person makes a purchase then advertisers money is worth investing for a link on site A. Advertiser is by this way advertising on number of sites rather than a particular site. He is actually looking for this complex interlinking of sites to make profit which a targeted audience often fails to produce. This is why PR is important

Your theory is true but still I dont know on which basis google decides PR because its ok that they have a set pattern but sometimes even the sites which have a better back links background, their PR falls. What will you say about that???
