How to Search PNR No and Check Reservations Status

Wanna know how to Search PNR No and Check Reservations Status. There are three ways by which you can search the PNR Status.

First is online (on the Indian Railways Site), second is by telephone and third is by SMS. We will take it one at a time.

Using Indian Railways Website to Search PNR Status

To check the PNR No status online, you can click here. For your future reference, the URL of the website is indianrail.gov.in.

This is a great website and works well in most of the cases; however sometimes due to server loads it may disappoint you a little.

Using Your Landline to Search PNR No Status

Indian Railways has a dedicated phone number for enquiry purposes. It is a toll free number that can be accessed from all places in India.

To use this you need to call 139 from your landlines. For mobiles you should use it with the STD code e.g.: 0522-139. This facility does not work on Airtel Landline numbers.

If you live in Delhi or Mumbai, you can also dial 139****** (10 digit PNR number) to know PNR Status.

Using SMS facility to Search PNR No Status

For this, you need to  SMS

  • PNR  < your PNR number> to 54959. E.g. PNR 2247461632 or
  • IRPNR [PNR number] to 57886
  • PNR <your PNR number> to 5676747 e.g. PNR 1234567891

Forgot PNR ? just ask railway minister ( without ticket how do you travel ?). Its clear that your intention is something else
