Looking to delete email account? In this article we cover how you can delete email account of three of the major Email Service Provider: Gmail, Yahoo, and MSN Hotmail. But first let’s take a look at what you stand to lose if you delete your email accounts with any of these service Providers

Yahoo: Along with the mail id you lose your Yahoo GeoCities page, your My Yahoo settings, your Hotjobs profile and other data in services belonging to the Yahoo! Empire.

Gmail: You lose your email id, Orkut, YouTube and other Google services like Google docs, Google calendar and others

MSN Hotmail: All MSN services that need a Hotmail account.

Now that you know what you will lose once you delete Email Account, here is how you do it.

Delete Yahoo Mail Account

• Login into your Yahoo account and Visit the termination page.
• Confirm your password and click on terminate this account.
• Your Yahoo id and all the related information will be deleted within 90 days

Delete Gmail Account

• Sign in to your Gmail account.
• Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
• Click Accounts in the Settings menu bar.
• Click Google Account settings.
• Click the Edit link next to ‘My products.’
• Click Delete Gmail Service and fill in the required fields.

Delete MSN Account

Since Hotmail is evolving even as we speak , we have listed two methods here. If first one doesn’t work , second one certainly would.

Direct Method

• Login to Hotmail
• Visit Close Account Page  By Pasting this url in your browser http://hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/accountclose?fti=yes
• Click Close Account

Traditional Method

• Click Help on any Hotmail page (usually top right-hand corner).
• Type Close Account in the keyword search section of the Help screen.
• Click the Close Your Account link within the Help screen.
• Click the go to the Close Account link that is highlighted in blue.
• Click Close Account

One more thing that we would like to highlight is that once you delete email account, the username or id becomes available for use. Someone can register your username and pretend to be you. So be careful before you delete email account.
