NMAT 2008 : Format and Expectations
NMAT 2008 will have 150 question as shown above. You earn 1 mark for correct answer while you loose 0.25 marks for a wrong answer. Since while computing the overall rank both the sectional cut offs and overall cut offs are considered, it is important that you score well in all the three sections.
According to sources, the NMAT selection criteria gives a weightage of 83.33 % to the marks obtained in the Qualifying examination. Hence it is very important to score atleast 15- 20 marks above the cut offs.
Ideally to get a rank of about 250, you would need to score in excess of 110 marks. Since the no of seats this year have been raised to 360, this score should see you through to a seat at NMIMS University.
NMAT: Analysis over the years.
2007:
NMAT has always been an easy examination with more stress being put on speed rather than conceptual clarity. Last year’s NMAT was no different. It had 150 questions which were supposed to be completed within 2 hours. The cut off was around 85 marks.. The only evident change from the previous year’s NMAT was a missing General Awareness section. Here is the link to the NMAT 2007 Analysis by various coaching institutes

2006:
Can NMAT be tough? No, it can’t be and it wasn’t even close to tough in 2006. The paper had an additional General Awareness Section and therefore the cut off were around 90 marks. Here is the link to the NMAT 2006 Analysis by various coaching institutes
