Sports buster

I was always good at sports. I was better than anybody in my school in discuss throw, shot-put, volleyball, races and cricket. That’s why you will see my house full of trophies of various events. If I count them all they would be around 46 of them, most of them for first position.
I am particularly good at cricket. As a normal all-rounder I can bowl, bat, field and even keep wickets with near perfection. I was the captain of my school team and won three interschool championships for them. The only match I lost was against the Navodaya Vidyalaya. We were supposed to chase 104 runs in 15 overs, not a big target by our standards, but everything went wrong that day. I decided not to open and give chance to my younger batsman but it was no longer than 3rd over and we were struggling at 10 for loss of 4 wickets. I went in there and faced a few deliveries to settle in. On the last bowl of the over I placed the bowl in between two fielders. It would have been an easy single and a difficult two. I decided to take a single but my partner had different views. I don’t know what was he thinking but he ran the second run with bowl in the hand of the fielder. I obliged and paid the price and was run out. Our team was all out at score of 24 runs and we lost by 79 runs.
After that we grouped back as a team and had our plans going. We defeated the same team in the finals to win the championship. That was a special feeling.

Web Designing

With multiple sites offering similar ideas, there has to be something unique in your site to attract visitors and this uniqueness can’t be in content alone. There are several factors that determine the traffic to a site like, the looks, the content and the rankings in search engine results. Most of us are neither SEO and web designing experts nor rich enough to take help of experts to boost our blog rankings. Therefore the best way out is to look for expert advice and trying to implement them in your blog.
I have been regularly following stylishdesign.com for this purpose, and it seems to have helped a bit. It is a design blog managed by Robert and Andrei. Apart from the great looks that the blog carries, you can find information on web designing, search engine optimization, AdWords and other related stuffs right from the beginner’s level. The website has an extremely user friendly interface and is not only filled with technical stuffs but you will also finds some inspiring and mind opening posts about different topics as well.
I would say this is a complete blog and a must read for people who want to see their blog moving north in traffic and search engine rankings

Logic Required

As I mentioned in my earlier posts that it was logic and logic alone that used to drive me through anything, it even does the same today. As a result I was never a great fan of subjects that were really run by chance and experiments which were supposed to yield something and finally ended up yielding something else. Serendipity, they used to call it, and it meant discovery by chance. We have discovered practically everything by chance, be it fire be it penicillin, then why in the hell students are supposed to go through dossier of documents that how the discovery actually took place. Why don’t you let students discover something by chance like I discovered long hours of sleep help you add weight, and lots of it. You can’t rediscover a thing by going through the same procedure by which it was discovered earlier.

I believe that nature is the best example of logic. Why can’t you learn it from her? You have oceans, rivers, seas, forests and land. If nature would have been busy in rediscovering any of these we would have been way behind from where we are at the moment. Everything you do has to have a purpose, and that was I missed in the school. It was purpose less application on random objects that I hated the most.

Blogging: The Start

In my schooling days, writing was never my hobby, and I admit I never imagined myself as a professional writer, writing reviews, admiring and criticizing people and products out there. Come on! You never dream being a writer. I passed my nights usually thinking of being a singer or a technical expert guiding satellites into space or being a soccer player getting the golden boot in the world cup and sometimes when I had really sound sleep I used to drive a Ferrari Formula 1 Car faster than Michael. But things are not supposed to turn out the way you like unless you make some real effort behind it and I was in no mood to do that, I never had the time to. I was busy dreaming my fantasies, living my life to fullest and enjoying the best days of my life as I thought that special days like those never come back. And they didn’t.
I am left with some great memories of those days. There is lot to share and lots to teach. All that, I learnt throughout my career just can’t be tied in a bag and thrown away. This was the thought, that came to my ever so restless mind and I honestly don’t remember when I discovered a writer in me. All that I had written my entire life were stupid answers to some seriously ridiculous questions, but this was probably the only medium I could have ever used to express myself as me. So I started blogging, and one year down the line, I feel the same zeal as I had when I passed my first class at school. I wish I could share, everything that is supposed to be, with all of you

This CAT ain’t Easy to Bell

Well to be honest cats were never easy to bell, but there are some cats that only 6 or 7 in 250 thousand people are able to bell them. This cat isn’t any animal, it is CAT or common admission test, the score of which is used to determine fate of thousands of students.

CAT is conducted by various IIM, one of world’s most prestigious management education institutes, on third Sunday of November every year. It is an objective test that usually consists of three sections, Quantitative aptitude, Data Interpretation and logical reasoning, and English. Quality, concentration and number of question that appear in the exam do not have any set pattern. CAT has changed its pattern literally every year in one respect or the other. While in 2006 it was 75 questions with easy quant and DI sections, 2007 saw 75 questions with tough quant and easier DI section. English has always been tough; actually it won’t be wrong to say that English is more of a lottery than a paper. You attempt more and hope to get at least half of them correct and you will be through.

Scores of CAT are declared with two respects, first is the normal scoring while the other parameter is percentile. A percentile is score that determines how many students that have appeared for the examination have scored lesser than you. It is a special feeling scoring 100percentile in the CAT among 250 thousand other aspirants. So if you feel like appearing for CAT keep in mind one thing CAT is unpredictable.

A New Start

When we first started blogging, 5 months back, we never thought of making money out of it. It was a passion and passion indeed which brought this blog to this stage where we can guide our readers to differentiate between good and great. Until now we were mostly raising important current issues with a bit of added humor but now, we feel its time to move on.
We were looking at ways to monetize this blog and guess what, we have found one. One of our friends introduced us to this wonderful opportunity. We have signed up at payperpost and we would be writing sponsored articles from now on.Payperpost is the most renowned medium that connects bloggers with the advertisers. It has literally redefined blog marketing. What we like about payperpost is that, it has provided thousands of bloggers with opportunity to generate some extra revenue from their blogs. This would be a new start for us. The extra money generated from this would be poured into maintaining all three of our blogs and further improving their quality. Hope we make this start into a successful career. So Finally A PR Update

So much awaited PR update is over, and with it starts another two to three month wait for the next one. It is like a test for most of the bloggers, and no matter how fine the blogger has done in phase between the two updates, he is never sure of the results and that’s what makes it cunningly exciting. Some bloggers are happy with the update, some are satisfied and some of them can be found giving Google tips on how to go about a PR update. These are the bloggers whose sites have been degraded in the PR update.
For us, it was nothing less than a opportunity to party. As you all know, we own three different sites, a general blog apart from this one and a web directory. These sites were having PR 3, 2 and 1 since the last update. We had it in mind to experiment with the whole PR thing, so we decided to implement two different strategies, one for each site. We went for quality, in content, link for wlug, and we stayed away from tons of worthless links from sites of different niche. On the other hand we tried out quantity for rocking future, developing lots of links even from sites which had nothing on them. This yielded us over 1000 back links and some confidence going into this PR update.
Well the results were out today and we are pretty happy about how things have gone. We have achieved PR 4 for wlug and PR3 for rocking future while we have got our web directory to a decent PR3. Soon we would be taking some dollars for link submission in the directory.
Well it’s time to analyze our strategies and to form new ones for the next update. It’s easier to go from PR 1 to PR3, at least easier than upgrading from PR 3 to PR 4. But time and money spent in obtaining quality links is quite large while you hardly have to spend any time in the quantity link. You can get thousands of them for hardly 30 odd dollars. Now let’s cut it short. After long analysis we have come to the solution that while on one hand we would continue to look for quality, in content, links we would also try links in quantity for both of our sites and hope we would go a step higher in the next update.

Racing @ 10 KMPH

I know most of you envy watching Rossi and Stoner race at speeds of over 250 kmph. Race is full of thrill and excitement and is a pure adrenalin rush for both the racer and the fan that is attending the race at the track side as a spectator. These races are take place at purpose built tracks which allows racers to achieve speeds as high as 320 kmph on tracks like Monza.

But have you ever thought about a bike race at the speed of 10 kmph. No its not a race in which the person who comes last wins. It is bike racing on loose sand and loose gravel. I and my friends do it on alternate weekends. The place where this race takes place is about 65 km from our town. We are a group of 8 people and we drive our bikes to the place. None of the bikes have been modified so that no one gets any kind of advantage. We race 2 laps of 200 m each on the track and the winner takes home 200$ as the prize money. This money is purely contributed by us.

We do this for excitement and believe me it is in no way less than excitement gained by racing at higher speeds. The excitement levels are highest at the start and finish line. We have to accelerate very carefully so that we get linear motion out of our tires and not only rotational motion. Most of us dig big holes before moving an inch. In the middle part of race, it gets really hard to control the bike as it begins to move at its own will, rarely in the direction the rider wants it to go. It is great fun to drive a bike like this. It requires some skill and bit of luck to win a race on loose soil. I have won 2 races till now and I hope this weekend I can add another victory to this tally.

A Person Too Big, A Blog Too Small

Standing at 7 feet 3 inches tall, he is the largest active athlete in the world. We here take opportunity to have our say on the man that most of us wouldn’t want as our enemy. He is WWE wrestler The Great Khali and is more than 7 feet tall and weighs over 420 pounds.
He belongs to India. He used to work for Punjab police when the then commissioner of police spotted his talent and guided him towards body building world. He already had tremendous height and with his hard work he developed a figure that would impress everybody. It was this figure that brought him the crown of Mr. India.
Now life has moved on and so has Great Khali. He is a former WWE champion and has been in t=his field of wrestling and body building for over 15 years now. When you compare his mammoth career with that’s of our blog only one phrase comes to mind. A person too big, a blog too small.
The great Khali has defeated nearly everybody that has faced him in the WWE including Undertaker, Batista, Kane, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and many more. At backlash, 27th April he faces yet another challenge, probably the biggest of his career, the Big Show. Big Show is just a bit short on height but 50 pounds heavier on weight. In this makes this contest so much more interesting. Well looking back at the history of WWE at crunch matches like when crowd’s sentiment are equally attached(Great Khali will be visiting India after Backlash) with both the wrestlers they try to find a middle way and most of the times these matches end either in disqualification or no result. Let’s hope that the match is decided on merit.
